November 2 is Election Day

Tuesday, November 2 is Election Day. Local ballots include our Highline Education Levy renewal and two Highline School Board races.

The ballot measure (Highline's Prop. 1) renews our expiring levy. It represents 13% of our district budget for four years and fills gaps in state funding for students' needs and essential services. Learn more about our levy

Levy Question & Answer

Highline Public Schools Education Levy Renewal - Nov. 2, 2021 Wordmark logo

This Week's Question: What are “equitable course offerings?” in the list of what the levy pays for?

Answer: “Equitable course offerings” refers to Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate and other advanced courses that can be taken for college credit. In the past, our smaller high schools (Tyee and Evergreen) have not had as robust a slate of advanced courses as our larger high schools. We have used levy money for the past several years to expand these course offerings at all four comprehensive high schools to ensure schedules are comparable and equitable across the district.
