Brent Madsen, program coordinator and driver trainer for the Transportation team, watched part of the building installation. Pointing to one section, he said, “That’s my office going in there!”
Fourteen modular units were lifted into place this summer to form Highline’s new Transportation Building. Several of the bus drivers and Transportation staff said they didn't think replacing Building L would ever happen!
The building is expected to open this fall, once interior and utility work is complete. Once staff move into the new building, the old Building L will be removed.
Replacing Building L was specified as part of the 2022 bond package, recommended by Highline's community-led Capital Facilities Advisory Committee (CFAC).
