Starting in September 2021, we plan to reopen schools for in-person instruction for students in Pre-K through grade 12. Schools will operate on pre-pandemic schedules.
Families who are unable to send their children to school in person due to family health concerns may select a remote learning program for the 2021-22 school year. This selection is for the entire school year. Changes from remote to in-person and from in-person to remote may be made if space is available.
Please take a moment to fill out the 2021-22 learning selection form to commit to in-person or fully remote learning for the 2021-22 school year. The selection form will close on May 27.
PreK students will receive four days of remote instruction, 2.5 hours a day.
Elementary students will be assigned to a remote classroom with students from other schools in the district. The teacher may not be from the school the student currently attends. Students will receive five days of live online instruction. Remote students will have access to dual language instruction, highly capable services and special education services.
Middle and high school students who are not in special programs will receive remote instruction through Highline Virtual Academy, a self-paced, self-directed online program supported by Highline teachers. Students in some special programs, including Dual Language, ELL, EBC, IAC and ILC, may receive some or all instruction via Zoom.
