Footings are being installed in July for a new modular Transportation Building.
A new building will serve as the hub for our bus drivers and dispatch operations.
The customized sections of a new, modular Transportation Building are being built off-site and will arrive in August. A crane will lift each section into place.
After school starts, we expect to connect utilities, install furniture and move in drivers and dispatch staff. The existing Building L — an aging, former army barracks — will be demolished.
Replacing Building L was one of the critical capital improvement projects outlined in the 2022 school bond, as recommended by our community-led Capital Facilities Advisory Committee.

The new Transportation Building is a permanent, modular building. It is being constructed in sections off-site that will be delivered, then set in place using a crane. Shown in the photo above is a top section with high windows and a slanted roof. The building is one level, with high ceilings and natural light on one side. See the drawing below.

A drawing of the new Transportation Building shows a slanted roofline, with high ceilings and windows on one side of the one-level facility to make use of natural light.
