Student Placement would like to inform you that Highline Public Schools has changed the transfer timelines for the 2021-22 school year.
Transfer Requests Within Highline
Students requesting to attend a school other than the assigned neighborhood school (in-district transfer requests) will be able to submit a request during the new open window from January 1 to May 26. Requests submitted June through August may be held until after the start of the school year. If you move during the academic school year but within district boundaries and wish to remain in the same school assignment the following year, please submit an in-district transfer at the time of your move.
Transfer Requests Into Highline From Other Districts
Students currently attending Highline Public Schools but residing outside district boundaries must submit a renewal choice transfer each school year. Renewal Choice Transfer requests can be submitted as early as January and no later than August 31. Renewal non-residents are only required to submit a Choice Transfer release form from their resident school district for their application to be considered complete. This form can be submitted online using the Parent Portal option; please select "renewal" when completing the form.
If you move outside of district boundaries during the academic school year and wish to remain in the same school assignment the following year, please submit a Choice Transfer request at the time of your move and, again, for the 2021-22 school year.
