Kindergarten Enrollment

Will your child turn 5 by August 31? Enrollment for the 2023-24 school year opens February 6!

Do you know a child who will be 5 years old on or before August 31? Maybe it's your neighbor, family friend or even your own child. That child is eligible to enroll in kindergarten for the next school year.

Enrollment Process

You can enroll online at your convenience after the registration window opens. You also have the option to visit your neighborhood school to enroll online using a school device.

Have the following ready: 

  • Birth certificate 
  • Proof of address (Rental agreement, purchase agreement or utility bill)
  • Immunization records

You can scan these documents or take a photo with your mobile phone to upload. Don’t have the documents readily available? You can begin registration now and email your documents to your school to complete your enrollment application.

Some students may already have records on file if they've ever received services or if a family has received services for another child. You'll enroll through ParentVUE, our online portal for families. Please choose the scenario below that applies to you and use that link to register.

You have never had services rendered to your enrolling kindergarten student or another child. 

Your child is a current preschool student, your child was previously enrolled in a Highline preschool or you have another child currently or previously enrolled.

Your child received early intervention services or special education services rendered by Highline Public Schools.

Readiness Programs

We want students to succeed in kindergarten on day one. That's why we offer programs and materials for incoming students and their families to prepare.

We offer unique programs for incoming kindergarten students to help them be prepare for kindergarten in the fall. These programs include Ready K!, Kindergarten Jump Start and WaKIDS. Learn more about these Kindergarten Readiness Programs.
