Apply to Schools of Choice

Our Schools of Choice require a separate application. The application process opens during the month of January for the following school year. Learn more about the school of choice application process. 

Every School and Program of Choice has program-specific age/grade requirements and criteria. Visit the School or Program’s website for more information.

Choice Schools - Highline Public Schools

A lottery will be held in March to select students for Schools and Programs of Choice. When there are more applicants than seats available, students are selected by lottery from the pool of eligible candidates. If you are selected in the lottery, you will be invited to a commitment conversation meeting and given school-specific next steps to finalize your placement. More details about the lottery here. 

Yes. With a single submission, you can apply to multiple schools. The application will have a "School Selection" page where you can select all the schools you’re interested in applying to. The application will then walk you through each school’s specific requirements and individual application steps. 

It is possible to be selected for more than one School or Program of Choice. If that happens, you'll choose the school you wish to attend and accept that offer. You can then decline the other offers so those seats can be offered to other students.

No, you cannot edit your application after submission. If you have questions or concerns about your application, contact the School or Program of Choice directly to speak with a staff member.

Yes, all Schools and Programs of Choice will offer individual Information Sessions. Visit each school’s website for specific “Info Night” dates and schedules.
