Community Language Learning
In Highline, around 100 languages are spoken at home. We value the multilingualism of our families.
In the classroom, this means recognizing a student’s home language as an asset to learning. Families are encouraged to support their children to read or speak in their home language first in order to build upon the competencies they already possess.
These videos were produced in collaboration with Seattle Public Schools, the Kent School District and OneAmerica.
