Hundreds of community members, alumni, and neighbors celebrated the grand openings of the new Tyee and Evergreen high schools last week. Each event drew more than 400 visitors who toured classrooms, gyms, libraries and student learning spaces.
Guests sampled school meals, saw students using the athletic facilities, and experienced firsthand how the new schools support learning and community pride. Many expressed joy and satisfaction with the new campuses.
Tyee Community Tour, October 7

Visitors explored career & technical education spaces and arts classrooms and learned about Tyee’s new Health Sciences Program. Visitors enjoyed performances by the Pacific Islander Club and the school band.
Evergreen Community Tour, October 9

Attendees toured Evergreen’s south and north buildings, including the skybridge linking them and the courtyard and greenhouse. The Culinary Arts Club offered charcuterie boxes and cookies; the Pacific Islander Club and DECA sold swag.
