Early Learning Center's Capacity to Increase
Valley View Early Learning Center in SeaTac will expand its capacity next fall with the addition of a permanent modular building featuring three classrooms, each equipped with a restroom.
The project is funded in part by a $776,640 grant from the Department of Commerce Early Learning Facilities program. The goal and requirement of the grant is to expand capacity for students enrolled in preschool through the Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP).
The three new classrooms will offer capacity for 108 more half-day students (counting both morning and afternoon sessions).
The new building will replace several out-of-service portable buildings, which will be demolished.
It will resemble the modular classrooms recently installed at Hilltop, North Hill, and White Center Heights elementary schools.
The project includes improvements to ADA access ramps and pathways at Valley View.
The additional building will be located south of the school and the play area.
The land use permit has been submitted, and this project is exempt from SEPA requirements. We plan to submit a contract to the school board from WillScott, the modular vendor, for approval of the building cost.
The early design development phase is underway and will address feedback from the City of SeaTac during the review process.
We expect the modular building to be installed and ready by summer 2025.
