We drew names in the lottery for an open seat on our community-led Capital Facilities Advisory Committee (CFAC) on Wednesday, October 9.
CFAC co-chair Omaha Sternberg assisted Highline's Chief Financial Officer Jackie Bryan and Capital Planning & Construction Executive Director Ellie Daneshnia with the drawing.
Omaha said she remembers when she was on the alternate list in 2015 and was tapped later for an open seat when another member needed to step down.
Sarah Brusig's name was drawn for the open seat in the Highline High School service area. Congratulations to Sarah and the rest of the alternates from our four service areas.
This is the first year we have such a high majority of CFAC members wishing to continue their service. We asked for a 2-year commitment this time to keep the same group together through 2026, when they hope to have hammered out a next-phase school bond package to recommend to the Highline School Board.
The first CFAC meeting this year is Monday, October 21, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the board room at our central office. We appreciate the hours these community volunteers and appointed representatives put into crafting Community Recommendations for Future Facilities.
