We need YOU! You are invited to submit your name to the lottery for open seats on the Capital Facilities Advisory Committee (CFAC) by September 25. Interpretation support is available.
CFAC is the community-led committee that plans for facilities needs and school construction in Highline. This committee is charged with recommending bond packages to the school board, which resulted in voter-approved school construction bonds in 2016 and 2022.
This school year, the committee will continue its work on community recommendations for future facilities to serve the needs of our students. The number of meetings varies from year to year, depending on the timeline between school bonds and tasks the committee takes on.
This year, we are planning two CFAC meetings so far, in the boardroom at the central office, 15675 Ambaum Boulevard South in Burien. Meetings are in person. School tours are available as requested by committee members. CFAC meetings are planned for:
- Wednesday, October 25, 6:00-8:00 p.m.
- Wednesday, March 27, 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Future topics of focus for CFAC members will include:
- Review the priority list of projects using Highline’s Equity Lens tool, prior to recommending a future bond package.
- Receive updates regarding:
- Capital projects & educational programming
- New strategic plan
- Enrollment trends
Please help us with outreach to Highline residents in the four high school service areas within our district boundaries. Inform our families and community about the opportunity to serve in this capacity.
