Social Services & Mental Health
Welcome to Highline Public Schools, Social Services & Mental Health Department. Our goal is to eliminate barriers and connect students and families to resources available both within and outside of our school system.
We are here to support the whole child. Our teams help connect students and families with the services and supports needed to thrive in and out of school by:
- Ensuring students who are unstably housed have full access to academic programs
- Provide and coordinate prevention, early intervention, access to behavioral health, and chemical dependency services
- Provide updated information on and accessing community resources
- Facilitate acute school-based responses to mental health crisis
- Coordinate district support of students and families with chronic absences including truancy
- Provide outreach and engagement for disengaged students
- Provide case management for students on long-term suspension or expulsions
- Committed to equal access to education through Section 504
- Supporting Pregnant and Parenting students
