Digital Learning
We are committed to providing grade appropriate learning that leverages technology intentionally to enhance accessibility and student agency. We believe this is powerful because:
- Student use of digital tools prepares students to be digitally literate and media literate.
- Students can continue their learning during class time, extended time, or outside the school day.
- Students can make choices that support their learning style.
- Employing the correct tools in a strong instructional model can lead to better personalization, differentiation, and therefore student achievement.
Web Filtering
Digital Transformation operates within the guidelines set by various policies and laws. Internet access provided by Highline is run through an internet filter that will attempt to block various content.

Highline’s strategic plan promises that “students will graduate with the problem-solving and critical thinking skills necessary to live and work responsibly in a digital world.” In service of this goal, Digital Transformation and Student Learning work together to ensure students have the most current devices and software (digital tools) to support student learning.
Digital Tools
Digital tools are programs, websites or online resources that can make learning engaging and easy to access. Many are available from a web browser and do not require the use of a district provided device. Students can get to the district provided digital tools from ClassLink.
To ensure every student experiences equitable, innovative, and meaningful learning, we thoughtfully select digital tools that enhance instruction and empower student voice. Each tool is reviewed for its ability to support inclusive, standards-based learning, protect student data, and contribute to positive outcomes for both students and staff. Every tool with student information involved, regardless of approval status, will be individually reviewed for their use case to ensure best practices.
ClassLink is our single sign-on portal for students to easily access digital tools specific to them.
