The School Mental Health supplement is partnering with Forefront Suicide Prevention & the University of Washington SMART Center to bring the LEARN® Saves Lives Suicide Prevention Training for Parents/Caregivers directly to you in your own home, free of charge.

Stress Reduction Support

Read this article about Coping With Stress During Infectious Disease Outbreaks. Here are more tips:

Limit media exposure and be intentional about what type of “screen time” you have.
Use a phone app for stress reduction: Calm Harm, Calm, Mindshift, Pacifica, Headspace
Take care of your body: get exercise, eat healthy, drink plenty of water, get 8 hours of sleep or more
Connect with others: Share how you are feeling about the situation with close family and friends. Keep in touch with your friends, but also remember to limit your screen time.

Running Start Support

If you are a current running start student and have questions about classes at the college, contact the Running Start Office at your college. While Highline Public Schools students attend many different colleges for Running Start, the two most common are:

CTE Dual Credit Support

A student that enrolls into a CTE class that qualifies as a dual credit CTE course has the potential to earn both high school and college credit.

The student must earn a C or better as a final grade in the course.
Apply for admission to the College the student is requesting the dual credit from. (Please reach out to your CTE instructor for the most current information.)
