Mr. George Wheeler
Welcome to the 2017-2018 School Year!
Mr. Wheeler has more than twenty four years’ experience teaching middle and high school science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) courses. He is also a Career and Technical Education (CTE) teacher and certified Worksite Learning Coordinator. Mr. Wheeler joined the staff of CHOICE Academy in 1997.
Mr. Wheeler earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and Education Certificate from Washington State University. In addition, he holds a Master of Science Degree in Instructional Design and Technology & a Career and Technical Education Certificate. Mr. Wheeler has a passion for information & wireless communications, technology, computer science, genealogy and history.
He brings his passion for teaching into the classroom by creatively integrating innovative technologies and instructional strategies that motivate students and foster success. He is an experienced and respected educator, instructional leader, grant writer, tinkerer and self-proclaimed techno-geek.
Mr. Wheeler is also proud to serve in the Washington State Guard, where he trains and works in emergency management and communications. When called to state active duty, he deploys to the State Emergency Operations Center at Camp Murray, WA to work as a Liaison Officer, helping to monitor, assist, advise and coordinate Washington State and National Guard resources.
