Fashion Design & Marketing

About the Program

  • Welcome to an exciting career of the fashion industry.  This program encompasses skills related to the garment industry, Interior Design, Advertising, Marketing, and Salesmanship.  While I teach here at Puget Sound Skills Center, I also keep my finger on the pulse of the industry by working with a variety of companies in the US and abroad on a freelance basis.  The projects and experiences are organized from the networking of businesses and professionals I connect with so that we are incorporating relevant skills for the work force.  The internship is also an important part of the class for the student to be able to shadow and have a mentor within their chosen career path.

Approved Equivalency Credit: 0.5 English, 0.5 Fine Arts

My background comes from the garment industry with a BA degree from Washington State University in Apparel Design and internships with a variety of star- up companies within the Ski industry.  I have designed for K2, Roffe, Pacific Trail, Unionbay, JD Sun Valley and the Demetre family.  After teaching at Seattle Central community college, I decided to apply for the fashion program here and really enjoy my time assistance and teaching young adults about the fast pace industry.
