Welcome to Literacy & Social Studies

  • We believe all students actively construct meaning in their lives, and the most effective way to support our students in becoming critical readers, writers, thinkers, and effective communicators is to provide a differentiated pathway to independent ownership of their learning experiences. Students will continuously develop their identities and skills as critical, informed, resourceful interpreters and creators of text.
     
    A successful literacy plan rests on a strong foundation of diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments that enable teachers to maintain constant knowledge of where students are in their learning.
