2022-23 Performance Report

Students continue to have access to rigorous, standards based instruction that reflects culturally responsive practices that are embedded in equity.   With our second year using the American Reading Company unit frameworks, we were able to integrate content and social justice standards into units of study.

We strengthened our work with teacher teams through professional learning communities led by the leadership of an Instructional Planning Team. This has supported teachers to use multiple formative/summative assessments and research-based, data-driven instruction to engage and communicate with students about their progress toward standards mastery and ensuring one year plus worth of growth. This is measured through our tools in School Pace with the IRLA and ENIL reading assessment.

Our Spanish Dual Language program expanded to our fourth-grade students.

We continue our work on engaging with families through partnering with our PTA through passionate conversations as well as expanding our school evening events such as La Kermes and music concerts.  We carried on our tradition of monthly coffee chats with families. 

We utilized data from the Panorama survey to ensure strong plans to ensure social emotional well being and instruction is strong so that students have a sense of belonging and connectedness at school.  

Our Spanish Dual Language program will increase to 5th grade.

Teachers will use data driven practices to ensure students have clarity around instruction, learning and assessments by using rubrics and providing the language domain (speaking, writing, reading, listening)  in which students will learn.  

We will continue to engage our families by partnering closely to identify the strengths and needs of each and every child by increasing communication and knowledge of how to support their child best. This will be done at Coffee with the Principal, Equipo de Apollo Comunitario, and 1:1 staff to family connections.  In addition, we will use the communication tools to support family 2 way communication.
