Azeb Hagos- District 5
Azeb Hagos is a 26-year King County resident and moved to Des Moines, WA with her husband in 2008 becoming a first-generation homeowner. She is also a first-generation American, first-generation high school graduate and first-generation college graduate holding a master’s degree in education with a concentration in k-12 guidance and counseling.
Azeb is a school counselor who has served students in public education for over a decade. She spent the majority of her career educating and developing thousands of preK-12th grade students in the Puget Sound region in collaboration with families and community support. She has designed and delivered school and district programs that maximize academic achievement, college & career readiness, youth social emotional development and advocates for all student and staff wellbeing. Her work, alongside multi-disciplinary teams, also addressed school and district systems work such as trauma, safety and crisis recovery. Azeb values strong, safe, welcoming and thriving neighborhood schools.
During her time as a school board director, Azeb Hagos attends and supports events across Highline public schools and serves as a liaison on the Highline Forum with the Port of Seattle, Highline's Capital Facilities Advisory Committee and staff wellness committee. Azeb is currently in the Leadership cohort through the Washington State School Board Directors Association.
