Free Meals Extended Through the End of the School Year
Good news! All Highline students and children 18 and younger can get free meals through the end of the school year (June 16, plus any makeup days), thanks to an update from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. This extends the free meal program, which was initially only slated to go through December.
Families have two meal pickup options, detailed below. Families should pre-order school meals online by 6:30 a.m. on the day of pickup.
Weekly Meal Kits can be picked up on Mondays at four locations – with three distribution times throughout the day.
Daily pickups occur at 70 locations - at select bus stops and elementary schools. Families may select any meal site location to pick up a meal. Daily meals can be ordered daily or for the entire week.
Both options provide breakfast and lunch and weekend meals. A pre-order reminder email and text is sent to families every Friday afternoon.
