School Safety Plan
Our school safety plan is based on current information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Washington State Department of Health, and Public Health—Seattle & King County. It was developed in partnership with the Highline Education Association (HEA).
A school safety committee at each school used this plan as a base and expanded it to include school-specific details. To view your school’s specific details, please contact your school office. We are not able to post the school-specific plans on our website because they are not in a format that is accessible under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
A teacher (HEA member), support staff member (Teamsters member), principal and school nurse are on each school’s safety committee. Each school has a designated COVID captain.
All school plans were reviewed by a district safety team, which includes a central office administrator, representatives of HEA, representatives of Teamsters, and staff from Highline's health services, facilities and human resources departments. All school safety plans adhere to the agreement negotiated by HEA.
