🏫 First Day of School  

We anticipate that the first day of school will be Thursday, September 3 for grades 1-12; Wednesday, September 9 for kindergarten; and Monday, September 14 for preschool. View the full tentative 2026-27 school calendar. The calendar will become final after Highline Education Association members vote on it in August. 

📮 Remember to Vote: Primary Election is August 4 

Ballots are due by 8:00 pm on Tuesday, August 4 in King County’s Primary and Special Election. We encourage all registered voters to vote. If you vote by mail, ballots must be postmarked no later than Election Day. Or you may turn in your mail ballot on or before Election Day at a ballot drop-off location. See a list of ballot drop-off locations in King County

📂 Student Google Files Now in OneDrive 

We have completed the transfer of student Google Drive files to OneDrive. Students can find their transferred files by opening OneDrive in ClassLink and selecting the Google Transfer Files folder. Students will begin using OneDrive, Teams, and other Microsoft tools for new schoolwork this fall, with support available when school resumes. 

📲 ParentVUE StudentVUE App Updated 

The next time you open the ParentVUE and StudentVUE mobile apps, you may be prompted to download the latest version from your device's app store. This is an official update and is safe to install. To continue using ParentVUE and StudentVUE, please complete the update when prompted. 

🔨 School Construction News 

In case you missed it, the July 18 issue of the Keeping Our Promise newsletter featured: 

  • The School Board’s unanimous decision to place a school construction bond and capital technology levy on the November Election ballot for Highline voters. 
  • New photos of Pacific Middle School, which is on budget and on schedule to open in September 2027. 
  • Construction of new tennis courts at Mount Rainier High School, funded by the 2022 school bond. 

📅 School Board Meeting Schedule  

You are welcome to join the Highline School Board and superintendent at a school board meeting. All school board meetings are held at the Central Office, 15675 Ambaum Boulevard SW in Burien, typically every other Wednesday, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 19. All regular board business meetings, work sessions and public hearings are public, and everyone is encouraged to attend.
