Tech-Savvy & Tech-Literate

  • Every student in the class of 2026 will graduate tech-savvy and tech-literate.

What is tech-savvy and tech-literate? Technology plays a critical role in the lives of our students. That's why we aim to graduate all students tech-savvy and tech-literate by 2026. But what does that really mean?

It goes way beyond mastering the hardware and software of today's technology. Students must be innovative problem solvers. They need to be able to adapt to the constantly changing technology landscape. They are the world's next technology leaders.

According to, there are currently more than half a million open computing jobs nationwide. Last year, less than 43,000 computer science students graduated into the workforce.

Highline is a leader in technology education. We offer computer science classes on every high school campus. Fewer than 25% of U.S. schools offer computer science classes.
Here's why our staff is so dedicated at ensuring every student graduates tech-savvy and tech-literate.
Highline is a model for blended learning, using computer and online learning tools plus classroom instruction.
Students work in small groups, independently, or one-on-one with their teachers, based on skill level. Teachers challenge students already exceeding expectations while giving targeted learning experiences to students who are struggling.
