International Baccalaureate (IB) – IB transfer request form required
An internationally-recognized, college-prep program emphasizing the development of independent learners, critical thinkers, and strong writers with a global perspective. This program is located at Mount Rainier High School and an IB transfer is required. IB transfer requests are accepted January 3 – January 31.
CHOICE Academy – Serving grades 7-12 - application required
CHOICE Academy provides a small, welcoming learning environment, with rigorous and relevant curriculum and top-notch teachers in a family-style school setting. CHOICE Academy offers flexibility, with traditional instruction in the morning and opportunities for on-site or independently-developed electives, such as music lessons, equestrian riding, dance, or theatre arts.
Big Picture Middle and High School – Serving grades 7-12 - application required
Big Picture Learning is focused on relationships, relevance, and rigor. Teachers and staff develop close relationships with students and families, help students identify what they are passionate about, and then harness this motivation to drive rigorous learning connected to real experiences in adult workplaces. The educational program includes real-world learning, internships, individualized learning plans, a small-school setting with low staff-to-student ratios, and a breakthrough college-transition program.
Raisbeck Aviation High School (RAHS) - Serving grades 9-12 - application required
RAHS offers a specialized, theme-based, and college-preparatory curriculum focused on aviation- and aerospace- related topics aimed at students who are passionate about aviation and flight, aerospace and space exploration, and related technical fields. Students who are interested in engineering (mechanical, electrical, aerospace, robotics, systems, civil), the sciences (computer, astrophysics, space), and technology- and innovation-driven fields will be well served in our school. Students who are motivated to pursue a science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) education and career pathway related to aviation and aerospace are ideal candidates. The school is located on The Museum of Flight campus, and district transportation is provided for students residing within the Highline boundaries.
