    Welcome to the home page for all of my classes (and clubs!) here at Mt. Rainier High School! To the left you will find links to all the courses I teach and clubs I advise. On each of these pages, you will find pertinent information and documents for each class (such as a course syllabus, handouts for assignments, and when assignments are expected to be completed). I will do my best to update these pages frequently (about once a week or every other week), so you can be informed on where students should be at in their coursework at any given time.

  • Art Shows!

    We have 3 major art shows each year- the District Art Walk, the Normandy Park Arts Festival, and SWAG Night (Swing With the Arts Gala).

    The first show is the District Art Walk, which will be Friday, May 5th. There will be student artwork (and performances!) by students from all over the district hosted in local businesses on 152nd street in Burien (near the Burien Library). Our student's work will be hosted in Pickled & Preserved and Phoenix Tea. See the poster below.     Art Walk Poster

    The other art shows art the Normandy Park Arts Festival on May 20-21st (10a-4p on Saturday, 12p-4p on Sunday) at Normandy Park City Hall and SWAG Night on June 1st (6-8pm) at Mt. Rainier High School! Please come out and support the arts!

     

    **Note- all my drawing/painting 1 students are graded for participation in at least one of the these art shows. They may participate in more than one if they choose and are welcome to submit multiple pieces.

  • France & Spain Trip

    The France and Spain trip is in no way related to our school or district. Our district is hands-off regarding international travel. If you would like information regarding the trip, please contact Mrs. Smethers.

  • Welcome to a New School Year!

    A new school year has begun- I hope it has started out well for you! Please familiarize yourself with my website- particularly the section(s) that pertain to what class you are taking. Each class has it's own page, where you will find the class syllabus (which includes grading policies and information), general class information, class specific announcements, and posted assignments.

    Please also note that I offer 2 days a week of after school work time where students may catch up on work, get extra help, or find out what they missed if they were absent. Currently, work days are scheduled for Mondays and Thursdays after school until 3:30pm. These days are subject to change (but hopefully not often!).

    If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me- email is best!
